Start this summer by mastering Oxford Learning’s teaching philosophy through hands-on tutoring, and transition into a leadership role in the fall as part of our academic coordination team.
This is a part-time, in-person position (15–30 hours/week ) based at our Lawrence Plaza centre. You’ll begin by supporting students primarily in English, and over time, take on coordinator responsibilities such as supporting staff, meeting with parents, and helping manage academic programming. Additional hours may be available based on centre needs and your availability.
Deliver engaging instruction for students from preschool to high school in language and math.
Assess language skills and tailor instruction to student needs.
Learn and apply Oxford Learning’s unique cognitive teaching methods. Our coordinators are responsible for modelling how to use our curriculum, and coaching fellow teachers on strategies for different learners which you will develop through practice.
Build rapport with students and contribute to a positive, structured classroom environment.
Support and mentor other teachers in delivering Oxford Learning programs.
Participate in parent meetings and student progress evaluations.
Help organize student schedules and maintain clear communication with families.
Assist with centre operations and staff coordination as needed.
Education: University degree completed or in progress (Education, Languages, or Social Sciences preferred).
Languages: Strong English proficiency required.
Experience: Prior tutoring, classroom, or educational camp experience preferred. Familiarity with Oxford Learning or similar programs is an asset.
Skills: Organized, adaptable, confident communicator with a passion for student success. Leadership qualities and a self-starter attitude are key.
Other: Must be available for a consistent weekly schedule and able to commute to Lawrence Plaza, Toronto. A Vulnerable Sector Screening will be required.
