French and English Teacher/Tutor Wanted

Are you a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic bilingual speaker? Join the team at Oxford Learning Willowdale as a part-time French teacher/tutor/coach. Ignite your passion for helping students succeed – en français! 

We teach students HOW to learn French and English. We help students improve their academic and study skills in a small group setting. We have a lot of fun! Our class sizes are small with a maximum of three students per teacher. We provide all of the curriculum and lessons. Teachers do not need to lesson plan. Our teachers explain and guide students through the provided material and help students talk about their understanding. 

Position Requirements

  • Availability during after-school and evening hours (3:00 pm - 8:00 pm) as well as some Saturdays (9:00 am - 1:00 pm)
  • Available for a minimum of 2 evenings/week
  • Candidates must possess a strong background in spoken and written French and English
  • In-person instruction
  • Ability to commute to the designated location - relocation packages are not available
  • Mandatory vulnerable sector screening

We encourage you to apply if you have the majority of the following requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 French curriculum

Experience:

  • Some experience teaching/tutoring French and English at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level
  • Strong French skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Responsibilities (Position Details)

You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:

  • Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
  • Teaching online and in-person
  • Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Filling in post-lesson notes
  • Completing daily student communication updates
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
