University or College Tutor – Oxford Learning Edmonton Callingwood

Oxford Learning Callingwood is looking for dynamic, academic-focused individuals to join our team. If you are a university student or graduate with a passion for STEM and a desire to help students reach their full potential, we want to hear from you! We specialize in teaching students not just what to learn, but how to learn.

Key Responsibilities

• High-Level Instruction: Provide expert tutoring in University or College level in 1st and 2nd year chemistry, biology, physics, Calculus, statistics, and general math.
• Adaptive Teaching: Utilize Oxford Learning’s unique systems to adapt teaching methods to various individual learning styles.
• Concept Simplification: Break down complex scientific theories and mathematical formulas into clear, digestible lessons.
• Academic Coaching: Assist students in preparing for unit exams and daily assignments while building their confidence and study skills.

Schedule & Availability

We are looking for candidates who are available for the following shifts as needed:

• Monday to Friday: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM

• Saturdays: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  (Note: As a casual part-time role, specific hours may vary based on student enrolment and tutor availability.)

Qualifications

• Education: Must be a current university/college student or a graduate of a post-secondary program (preferably in Science, Engineering, or Math).

• Subject Mastery: Demonstrated strong proficiency in high school and introductory university-level Sciences and Mathematics.

• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills; ability to explain abstract concepts clearly.

• Experience: Previous experience in tutoring, teaching, or coaching is considered a significant asset.

• Security: A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search is mandatory prior to hiring.
