Bilingual Math Teacher

Oxford Learning in the Beach is currently seeking a part-time Bilingual (French/English) Math teacher for a role in our learning centre. This position is excellent for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, is fluent in French and English, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

We focus on students' cognitive development and look for individuals who will honour Oxford Learning teaching methods and philosophy in a fun environment. We will train you in our innovative Interactive Coaching methods that teach students how to learn and study more effectively.

This role requires a minimum of two shifts per week. Tutoring hours are Monday - Thursday 3:00pm - 8:00 pm and Saturdays 9:00am - 2:00pm.

What will you do?

All teachers at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours as well as Saturdays. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

• Availability to work a minimum of two shifts per week (Monday to Thursday, and Saturday)
• Ability to teach up to 3 students at a time with various learning and academic needs
• Communicating specific student needs to administrative staff
• A passion for seeing students succeed and achieve their highest potential

What do you need to succeed in this role?

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field
• Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• French language proficiency is required (a language test may be required during the interview process)
• Familiar with the Ontario curriculum for Math for grades 7-12, particularly upper level Math including, but not limited to, Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry and Calculus
• Ability to teach other subjects in both languages is a strong asset (Sciences, History, Geography)
• OCT certification is an asset

This is an on-site tutor position. You must be able to reliably commute to our location. Tutoring hours are Monday to Thursday 3pm-8pm, and Saturdays 9am-2pm. Please include a cover letter indicating your work availability when applying.
