Gain valuable teaching experience! Oxford Learning Burlington South is currently seeking part-time Teachers (Tutors/Educators) for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

Teachers at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements

All Teachers at Oxford Learning Burlington South work during after-school and evening hours and we are currently hiring for Monday/Wednesday 3pm-7pm, Monday/Wednesday 4pm-8pm, Tuesday/Thursday 3pm-7pm, and Tuesday/Thursday 4pm-8pm.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available.

Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

We encourage you to apply if you have the majority of the following requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification an asset

Experience:

• Some experience teaching/tutoring 
• Strong English written and oral communication skills
• Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Responsibilities (Position Details)

You will work directly with students and have the following responsibilities:

• Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
• Teaching in-person (preference will be given to local candidates and anyone living outside of the Halton and Hamilton areas need not apply)
• Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
• Filling in post-lesson notes
• Completing daily student communication updates
• Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
• The Teacher supports students with varying needs, abilities and grade levels.
• A high level of flexibility is required as well as knowledge of behaviour management strategies, exceptional attention to detail and great multitasking. It is a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary Range: $20 / hour

• Teaching Hours are Monday to Thursday, 3pm-8pm
