Oxford Learning Saskatoon is seeking casual/part-time teacher-tutors for roles in our learning centre. If you love working with students, enjoy teaching language skills, and want to help others build their academic confidence, this position is perfect for you. Position Overview: As a Teacher-Tutor at Oxford Learning, you will have the opportunity to work with Elementary students in reading, writing, math and possibly French, and/or with High School students in math (through Calculus), physics, chemistry, biology, English and possibly French. Our Teacher-Tutors do not have to worry about lesson planning, as all lessons are pre-planned. You will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods, allowing you to focus on what you do best – teaching!

Position Requirements

  • Availability during after-school and evening hours (4:00 pm - 8:30 pm) for at least two consistent evenings per week
  • Occasional need for Saturday availability (between 10:30 am - 4:00 pm)
  • Commitment through to the end of the 2025 school year (June 30th), with the possibility of continuing through the summer (daytime hours)
  • In-person instruction, ability to use technology for online teaching as needed
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are required
  • Ability to commute to the Oxford Learning Saskatoon location
  • Mandatory vulnerable sector screening
  • Must be a current resident of Canada; residing within the greater Saskatoon area
  • No relocation package provided

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Second-year university students with tutoring experience will be considered
  • Working towards or having a teaching certification is an asset
  • Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum is an asset

Experience:

  • Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills and the ability to guide students' understanding is a must
  • The ability to teach French, and/or math is also highly desired
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Responsibilities:

As an Interactive Coach, you will:

  • Teach up to 3 students at a time
  • Learn and follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Complete daily student communication updates and monthly progress reports
  • Maintain a friendly and professional demeanour at all times (create a fun learning environment)
  • Build the enjoyment of learning
  • Be a positive and motivating influence on students
  • Act as a supportive and flexible team member
