Part-Time Elementary Teacher/Tutor Wanted

Oxford Learning Oakville North is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and committed English/Math teacher to join our fabulous staff! Our centre has been rapidly growing and we must ensure that we have enough teachers to meet this growing demand! Please review the following criteria to determine whether this position might be the right fit for you.

A great candidate for this position will possess the following skills:

• Confidence teaching both English and Math curriculum from Grades 1 - 8
• Experience in either teaching or tutoring
• Strong English language written and oral communication skills
• Strong ability to organize and multi-task

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Fourth year university students with some tutoring experience will be considered, excellent third year university students with extensive tutoring experience will also be considered
• Teaching certification an asset
• Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 9 curriculum

Responsibilities (Position Details):

You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:

• Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
• Teaching in-person
• Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
• Filling in post-lesson notes
• Completing daily student communication updates
• Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times

Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Job Type: Part-time

Rate of Pay: $18.00 / hour to start

Schedule:

• Evenings, 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm
• Monday to Thursday
• Saturday availability, 9:00am - 1:00 pm
