Education Support Specialist (French Skills a Plus) – Immediate Start with Leadership Potential

Are you passionate about helping students succeed? Do you have strong organizational skills and enjoy working with kids? Oxford Learning Lawrence Plaza is looking for a dedicated Education Coordinator to join our team. If you can converse in French and have a solid grasp of French grammar, that’s a big advantage—some of our students are French-speaking, though the role primarily focuses on English. This position offers hands-on experience, a supportive team, and a clear path to grow into a leadership role as the centre expands.

About the Role
Join us in-person at our Lawrence Plaza location to support students from preschool to post-secondary. You’ll work closely with the Education Director to create a positive learning environment while developing your teaching and leadership skills. This part-time role requires 15-20 hours per week, with a consistent schedule and potential for additional hours based on your availability and centre needs.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support students in their learning, with a primary focus on English.
  • Converse in French with a small group of French-speaking students and assess their French skills.
  • Use your French grammar knowledge to enhance student programs when needed.
  • Guide parents through our programs and answer their questions.
  • Organize schedules for students, staff, and teachers.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with parents.
  • Create a fun, energetic atmosphere while adapting to the needs of students and staff.
  • Learn and apply Oxford Learning’s teaching philosophy, with opportunities to coach others as you grow.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Education: Minimum university degree (credits in Education, Languages, or Social Sciences a plus).
  • Language Skills: Strong English proficiency (oral and written). Ability to converse in French and a good grasp of French grammar are highly valued (full fluency not required). Additional languages are a bonus.
  • Experience: Background in education or working with students (group settings preferred). Experience with Oxford Learning or similar programs is a plus.
  • Skills: Self-starter attitude, excellent communication, and a passion for helping kids learn. Strong computer skills (Google, online tools) and customer service experience are assets.
  • Other: Ability to commute to Lawrence Plaza, Toronto, and pass a Vulnerable Sector Screening.

Why Join Us?

  • Help students build confidence and achieve their academic goals.
  • Enjoy a fun, supportive team with staff events and ongoing training.
  • Grow your career with hands-on leadership development and a path to Education Director.
  • Make an impact from day one in a role that values initiative.
