Oxford Learning Academy in Milton has openings for Primary/Junior and Junior/Intermediate Supply Teachers to teach classes of approximately 12 students between grades 1-8. There are five combined classrooms: JK-SK, Grade 1-2, Grade 3-4, Grade 5-6, and Grade 7-8. This qualified supply teacher will be responsible for delivering creative, comprehensive classroom lessons prepared by the homeroom teacher any day of the week from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. Reporting to the Principal of the Oxford Learning Academy private school, the successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of grades 1-8 curriculum requirements in Ontario.

Position Requirements

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education:

• Ontario Teacher Certification (OCT) with Primary/Junior or Junior/Intermediate Qualifications
• Teaching experience in the Primary, Junior, or Intermediate division
• Additional Qualifications (an asset)
• Work experience in the Independent School environment (an asset)
• Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 8 curriculum

Experience:

• Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 8 (or equivalent) level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to 12 students at a time
• Must be able to commit to supplying until the end of the school year
• Must have experience with Smartboard Technology

Job Type: Supply

Salary: $22 / hour to start

Schedule:

• Evenings
• Monday to Friday
• Saturday availability
