Part-time Elementary and High School Math Teacher

Oxford Learning Thornhill has an opening for an upbeat, passionate, committed, enthusiastic, and dynamic Math teacher who wants to work in a rewarding teaching environment. Our Education Programs offer individual support to students looking to improve their academic skills and study habits. Candidates must possess a strong passion for seeing students succeed and must be comfortable teaching students ranging in age from Kindergarten to Secondary school.

You will teach using a combination of Oxford Learning’s own proven, proprietary curriculum and materials, and also help students with their homework and help them prepare for tests/exams throughout the term.

Specific Qualifications: 

  • Experience working in an educational environment (minimum 1 year)
  • Extensive knowledge of written and verbal of the English Language
  • Proficient in math and problem solving, both written and verbal
  • Ability to teach Math to Elementary and Secondary students
  • Knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 math curriculum, particularly senior maths including advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry and calculus & vectors would be an asset
  • Ability to teach Science, English, or other subject areas would be an asset
  • Completed or in process of completing an undergraduate degree
  • Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification or working towards (including equivalent) would be a strong asset

Job Type: Part-time

Salary Range: $17 - $18 / hour

Schedule: We ask that the candidate be able to work 1-2 afternoons, evenings a week Monday-Thursday (4 pm-7 pm) and/or Saturday mornings (9 am-12 pm).
