High School Math and Science Tutor
Oxford Learning Orleans is currently seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable part-time Math and Science Tutors to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with students, has a strong understanding of mathematics and science, and is passionate about helping students build their skills and confidence.
Our tutors do not need to create lesson plans, as all lessons and materials are prepared in advance. Successful applicants will receive comprehensive training in Oxford Learning’s teaching methods and philosophy.

In-person tutoring at our Orleans learning centre
Flexible scheduling based on your consistent weekly availability
Evening and Saturday shifts available

Qualifications
We encourage you to apply if you meet most of the following requirements:
Education
A bachelor’s degree or similar qualification in a relevant field is preferred
University students with relevant knowledge and tutoring experience will be considered
Strong knowledge of the current Ontario Grades 9–12 mathematics and science curricula
Ability to teach senior-level mathematics, including algebra, trigonometry, Advanced Functions, Calculus and Vectors
Ability to teach high school science subjects, including physics, chemistry, and biology
Experience and Skills
Previous experience teaching or tutoring mathematics and science at the Grades 9–12 level is preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
French-English bilingualism is considered an asset
Excellent mathematical and problem-solving skills
Ability to explain challenging concepts clearly and guide students toward understanding
Ability to multitask and work with up to three students at different academic levels
Friendly, patient, dependable, and professional
Responsibilities
As an Oxford Learning tutor, you will:
Teach up to three students at a time, potentially at different grade levels
Deliver engaging, in-person instruction
Follow Oxford Learning’s established teaching methods and philosophy
Complete post-lesson notes and daily student communication updates
Monitor students’ understanding and provide encouragement and guidance
Maintain a positive, friendly, and professional learning environment
Schedule
Candidates may provide their consistent weekly availability within the following hours:
Monday to Thursday: 4:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m.
Saturday: 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
Salary: $18.50 – $19 / hour
